09/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/16/15 09:55hrs Bella Dell is a 2 year old female Staffordshire terrier. She was cared for by her owner since she was two weeks old but is being surrendered because of destructive behavior. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Bella Dell is described as playful, affectionate and friendly. She lived with adults but interacted with children of all ages. She plays exuberantly with everyone, allowing petting and giving kisses. She lived with a tea cup yorkie and was very playful with the dog. Her owner stated that she isn’t aware of her size and sometimes could play too rough. When she notices other dogs her tail stands up and she attempts to investigate the other dog. BEHAVIOR Bella Dell was kept mostly indoors but accustomed to being walked at least 2x a day. She was bathed at least 1x a week. She isn’t bothered by her food bowl or toys being touched or taken from her mouth. She enjoys being rubbed down and brushed. She will bark when visitors knock but greet each visitor in a playful manner. Her owner stated that Bella Dell would defecate on furniture in the home after she was left alone free in the home and sometimes when the owner was home; the incidents occurred at least 3x a week. She is kept in her kennel for up to 6 hours a day and won’t use the bathroom inside of it. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Bella Dell is accustomed to going to dog parks at least 2x a week. She has been walked off leash and stays near her owner when she is left alone. She was fed wet and dry Eukanuba dog food. She would sleep in her crate at night. DURING INTAKE Bella Dell displayed a soft body with wagging tail. She allowed petting and would jump onto the Admissions Counselor to play. She was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed without displaying any negative behavior.

09/16/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Ready for a brindlicious beauty named Bella Dell? Gorgeous in her gleaming coat, her tail wags, she smiles, she’s friendly and loves meeting new people and other dogs. She pulls on the leash a bit in her excitement at being out for a walk, but she’s responsive to her person and a harness might be a better option than a leash. Going potty as soon as we were out the door indicates she may be housetrained. She loved being off leash in the back yard, playing fetch with a plush toy, dropping it at my feet for another throw, meeting staff who came in to visit with her, and then sitting for a treat which she takes gently. In group play she’s social, loves running play and can be a “rough and rowdy” player. Bella Dell has a fun, friendly and outgoing personality, ready for an active home in which lots of playtime, exercise and snuggle time are on the daily ‘to do’ list. She’s gorgeous, she’s friendly, and she’s waiting.

09/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
It was reported from Bella Dell’s previous owner that she has sometimes inappropriately eliminated on the owner’s furniture and bed. There was no further information given regarding this behavior on whether this was due to a medical reason, what Bella Dell’s walking regimen was like, or if the owner sought any training for this issue. We advise potential adopters to be aware that this behavior may continue in a home environment, and that they be comfortable with management and modification techniques for this behavioral challenge. Bella Dell pulls hard on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment. Bella Dell was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Bella did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She was not interested in toys or rawhide. Bella Dell is an active dog she needs a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that she can go to an experienced home. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog is active and focused on the Assessor and all other stimuli available. Her body is soft, likely panting, likely to display high movement between attempts. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Food 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest.

09/15/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Bella is social and solicits rough play with another dog. 9/16 update: Bella Dell is social and engages in rough play with playful males and females. She may become a bit pushy when playing. 9/17 update: Bella Dell engages in rough, mouthy play with both males and females, but she will overreact when mounted. When another dog becomes over aroused she will approach and attempt to offer correction but will escalate and become difficult to slow down. 9/18 update: Bella Dell engages in vocal play with another playful dog.
