04/27/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Have you ever seen a most beautiful smile? Well, here is rotund Bella for you, right after eating roasted chicken and showing her best sides…probably to get more now that we are friends. Bella and I are now such a great pair. Bella has already a good disposition, though. She welcomes me, tail wagging in her kennel. Yes, she is a Rottie with a tail…be careful of those…their tail is strong and can feel like a whip on our thighs. Not with Bella, she is gentle despite her 105 pounds and brushes softly against me for bonding. She walks nicely in the yard and says hello to other dogs playing in pens. We sit, Bella by my side, very close and accepting caresses. She looks at me from time to time. The smile has not left her aging face…A moment of peace and happiness. It is priceless. Bella is with us as her family lost their home, may be temporaritly…If not, Bella will need to relocate and find new owners to love, and be cared for. Bella is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping to soon be loved again.
