11/22/15 20:13 Basic Information: Bear is a 10 year old spayed female who was adopted 10 years ago from another shelter. She was surrendered today because she bit one of her previous owners. She has no known injuries or health problems and the last time she went to the vet was 6 months ago. The two things her previous owner liked most about her were; she’s friendly and loveable. Social Life and Personality: Around children 12 years old, Bear is relaxed and playful and when she plays she is exuberant but gentle. Around dogs she is also relaxed and playful and exuberant when she plays. She has never been around cats. She is house-trained and never has accidents. She was kept indoors only and has a medium activity level. She can be described as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, mellow, and friendly. Behavior: Bear has only attacked and been aggressive towards certain family. She has bitten before and punctured skin, the last time she bit was 11/22. She has never bitten another animal. When she is eating and someone touches her food bowl or treat she looks up briefly and then continues eating. She is friendly if someone takes a toy from her while she’s playing. She isn’t bothered if she is pushed off the furniture. She tolerates baths and isn’t bothered if her paws are touched. She is friendly if her coat is brushed, if she is held or restrained, if an unfamiliar person approached the home, or her previous owner. She isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Bear knows how to sit, stay and give paw. For exercise she went on brisk walks 4-5 times a day. She liked to play with balls and her favorite game is tug. She was crate trained as a puppy but no longer needs it. When her previous owners were home she liked to be in the same room. She is well-behaved if she is left alone in the home. When off leash she wanders but comes when called. She isn’t bothered of storms or fireworks. She ate dry food and at night she slept in her dog bed. Behavior during intake: Bear came when called, she allowed me to pet her, collar her and she sat on command for pictures without showing any signs of aggression.
