03/28/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: So quiet in his kennel, and giving me a little tail wag as I unlatched his door, Barney was ready for an outing. He went potty as soon as we were out the door and then off we go to the park. Barney set the bar very high for the dogs I would walk after him, as his leash manners are fabulous! Although it’s clear that he’s looking for his people as we walk, he never pulls and is simply the perfect leash partner. Ignoring other dogs we pass, Barney is in his own space, trying to get a grasp of his new environment and circumstance. We stopped to take some pictures, Barney allowing some petting, and at one point resting his head in my hand and closing his eyes. My heart skipped a beat at his obvious moment of contentment. Have you ever had the pastry called a bear claw? Well, Barney’s feet remind me of bear claws – they are perfectly shaped, nails are trimmed, round, kissable and delicious! Gentle Barney is looking for a new home in which he’ll feel safe and loved forever and ever. Calm, easy and not asking for much other than walks and hugs, Barney is hoping to meet you today.
