A volunteer writes:

Balto, a gorgeous and neutered young Husky was found as a stray…Really…He is gorgeous, healthy, has been so well cared for, is sociable, friendly, playful…..Anything a Husky lover would want …Indeed, Balto is welcoming in his kennel.  Leashed in no time, he strolls nicely and does his business in one stop.  He is curious and seems happy to see other dogs encountered in the street and would like to play a ball game with another pooch enjoying his time in an adjacent pen. Balto can sit on command and takes treats very gently from my hand. He is interested in a tennis ball, runs for it, catches it but then, lets it go.  Balto is no yard dog. He is too well groomed ,  very comfortable around people and dogs alike and clearly has had some  basic training. He likes to be caressed and talked to. Balto is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping that his gorgeous blue eyes made to “live for” will drive you from close, far and wide to meet him and take him home as your forever best friend.
