09/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Baisley came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Baisley came into the assessment room curious and sniffing the area, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Baisley tried to bite the assessor on the Look item. During this portion of the assessment on food item Baisley bit the assess-a-hand when attempting to remove the food bowl, toy and rawhide items she bared her teeth with stiff body language. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog freezes and tries to bite. Food: 5. Dog tries to bite. Toy: 4. Dog freezes and bare teeth. Rawhide: 4. Dog freezes and bare teeth. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs Baisley greets well and is interested but does not engage in play. She spends most of her time exploring her surroundings.
