Baby and Linda did everything together and never left each other’s side. They were often seen playing tag with each other in the home. Behavior Baby allows all grooming except for nail trimming in which her and her mother would hide under the bed. During bath time they would both play in the water. When people approach the apartment door Lind and Baby would both bark until the guests entered the home. For a new Family to Know Baby and Linda are described as affectionate towards each other and their human family members. Their favorite activities involved playing Tag and just overall time spent together. You would never see the two apart. Linda and Baby are both wee wee pad trained. Baby gets a little protective when people approach her mom but will quickly come around and begin to greet in a friendly manner just like her mother. When left home alone Baby and Linda are well behaved. During intake Baby had a tense body and began to bark as we approached her and her mother. She was scanned (-), and collared by her previous owner. Baby was carried and placed into her kennel with the use of a towel.

12/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Baby was surrendered to our center along with her mother due to previous owner’s health issues. It is reported she was born in the home and with her mother her entire life. She is reportedly shy at first but warms up quickly. Owner states Baby is wee wee pad trained and well behaved when left alone in the home. During intake Baby had a tense body and began to bark as staff approached her and her mother. She was collared by her previous owner. Baby allowed staff to pick her up to take her outside for relief walk but was nervous and would not walk. She was tense and fearful in the SAFER assessment room. Baby remained tense throughout the assessment, but allowed all handling. She allowed her head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, lip long. She stood still during Sensitivity item, body fearful, ears back, mouth closed. She did not follow at the end of the leash for Tag game, crouching at each pass and repeatedly spinning towards the hand. She moved her legs and body away during paw Squeeze, but had no response to each flank Squeeze. Baby showed minimal interest in Toy, sniffing a few times before turning away, slight lip lick. She did not approach the helper dog, fearful and nervous. The Behavior Team feels Baby would do best with an Experienced adopter that does not have children. She will benefit from a calm, quiet, environment so she can adapt to her new home. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful, her tail is low and not moving.
