Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Azazul came to our center as an owner surrender. It is reported he has lived with three small children and a yorkie, playing gently with them. Azazul pulled slightly during his relief walk and jumped on the assessor playfully upon entering SAFER area. He pulled out of Look three times, unable to complete item. Azazul leans in to assessor during Sensitivity item, tail wagging. He ran ahead of the leash during Tag game, unconnected to assessor, but not fearful. Azazul leaned his body away with wagging tail during Squeeze, mouthing assessor’s hand with no pressure, jumping up at the end of item. He calmly allowed Food bowl to move away, lifting his head when assess-a-hand is applied to his cheek. Azazul had minimal interest in Toy, sniffing it a few times before turning away. He engaged with Rawhide, keeping a firm grip with a loose, wiggly body. In playgroup, Azazul was polite and tolerant of pushy dogs, did not engage in play. The Behavior Team feels Azazul will do well with an Average family. He may benefit from obedience classes to learn leash manners, as well as body impulse control in regards to jumping up and lightly mouthing.
