***SAFE*** A volunteer writes: All wiggles and wags, Clementine is a happy dog who is quick to make friends. An athletic strider and engaging explorer, there’s something about Clementine that has you thinking of all the adventures you could be sharing with her. Given her perky personality, I can see her scampering in the snow with glee or enjoying long walks on the beach; then again, she might be just content spending a quiet evening with you, snuggling close. Having passed her behavior assessment at the Care Center with a good score, Clementine should be a nice fit in almost any home. I also heard from a fellow volunteer that she did well in a doggie playgroup when another dog was not so nice to her. Quick to soak up affections, Clementine’s is a joy. Come meet her today–she’s ready to begin her new adventures with you!

Meet Duke, a delightful, slightly older dog who’s been hanging out in the Brooklyn ACC ever since his owner and he were evicted from their home. It’s funny cuz some dogs go through the shelter system with nary a glance of attention. Then there’s Duke. We have no idea what the powers that be thought Duke was harboring but they examined him every which way and once more for good measure. They had Duke in their version of the interrogation room for quite awhile. As it turns out, Duke is an average sized pit bull mix of older, middle years. The only oddity that could be established about Duke is really quite a common condition, namely that he shows barrier-aggression or frustration toward dogs who he can’t reach. Actually, when Duke can make contact with the stranger dog, he behaves quite appropriately. You’ll need to come to the shelter to meet Duke for yourself. Oh, Duke also has kennel cough – no biggie. So, wonderful Duke is adoptable to any good family experienced in handling dogs. Could Duke’s new family be yours? You’d be saving his life and enriching your own.
