WEB MEMO
11/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Asami walks calmly on leash. She was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Asami was uncomfortable with handling, turning quickly (air snap) toward the hand. She was not interested in toys. Asami does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 5. Dog snap. Toy 1. No interest. Dog – dog 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits. Helper: A1057322
