05/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Apache came into the care center as a stray, so hos past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was noted that Apache bypassed introductions for petting and play. He was reported to be loose for all handling but was very easily aroused. He was also reported to be very insistent on leash but responsive to guidance. During SAFER Apache was excitable when entering the assessment room, and was sociable towards the assessor. He allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and he became a bit distracted during the tag interaction. Apache was easy to handle when engaged with the food item, allowing the assessor to easily push him out of the food bowl. He was also easy to handle when engaged with the toy item, and did not show any interest in the rawhides, and was more interested in playing with the assess-a-hand. No behaviors concerns were seen at the time of the assessment, so the department feels Apache can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1.
