A volunteer writes: I love the color orange ! It is sunny, summery and happy..This is why dogs this color always appeal to me. Anastasia is as bright as a pumpkin but as thin as a stick. Her coat shines in the sun and her very long tail swings slowly in the air. She feels better and better as our walk goes on in Jefferson Park. She does her business in one stop. Her pace slows down and she actually looks around, smells the grass and becomes aware of other dogs, barbecued meat and people commenting on how pretty she is… She was so aloof and lost at the beginning of our encounter, pulling on the leash and even looking wary. When we stopped and sat on a bench after drinking some water, Anastasia ‘s worries seemed to have all gone. She hopped by my side, squeezed tightly against my body and exchanged kisses and hugs. She layed down on my lap, content and just chilled out, in the shade, lost in her thoughts…..Anastasia is with us for no fault of her own. Her owners are no longer able to care for her because of personal problems. Anastasia became homeless and is an orphan that needs you. Anastasia is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center for her fate to unveil.. She is a lovely gal, pretty, girly, friendly and affectionate, a family dog sure to make any owner blessed to have her as a pet. Sweet Anastasia, I hope that soon enough, you will find happiness again.
