11/21/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Go out and buy a full-length mirror, come pick up your new-and-forever dog Amycus, and warn your friends they won’t be seeing you for a while: Why leave the house when you can laugh nonstop, watching Amycus try to play with the gorgeous, hilarious dog in the mirror? This dog is a game-changer, not just in the game department, but in life. He’s so overwhelmed in the shelter and just shut down, but after five minutes in the park up comes his tail and every thing about him just relaxes into goodness and sweetness. By the time a pet earns a tail wag and then the tail wag leads to his head in your lap and then the tail never stops wagging, you’ll feel like you’ve won the canine lottery. And when you watch him try to romp with himself in the mirror, you’ll know you have. Clearly, Amycus can see himself for who he really is: a dog who deserves to be swooped up immediately and allowed to come back to joyful life. We’re rooting like crazy for this boy!
Another volunteer writes: Shy in his kennel, I offer some bribe treats to let Amycus know I’m a friend. As we ‘chat’, he puts his paw on my arm letting me know it’s now OK, and out we go. He uses the outdoor ‘facilities’ immediately so is likely housetrained and as we walk to the park he takes his time to sniff his new environment. A “stop and smell the roses” kind of a dog, it give me time to admire his gorgeous physique and coloring. He’s a stunner! Every once in a while he gets playful on leash, looking up at me wagging his tail and doing a little hop and you can see the loving, playful dog that is hidden within. Amycus is a wizard in the Harry Potter series, and our Amycus is ready to do a little wizardry himself and become part of your family.

Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1.
