A Staff member writes : Amber is a black and white 1 yrs. old female Shih Tzu who was surrendered at ACC . Amber suffers from seizures and is receiving mecdication for this issue. She is described as being affectionate and cute.
PROFILE :
Amber has been socialized with children and other dogs but has not been socialized with cats at this time. When she is around children and dogs she is respectful relaxed and tolerant. When she is interacting with them she is gentle well behaved and affectionate. She is a house trained indoor dog who has a medium activity level. She is described as being playful confident excitable affectionate independent and friendly. She is afraid of loud noises and will became nervous and hide.
Amber is not bothered when anyone places their hands by her food or takes away her toys or treats. She is also not bothered when she is pushed off of the furniture disturbed from her sleep or being restrained. She is not bothered when she is given a bath having her nails trimmed or having her fur brushed. She becomes alert when a stranger approaches the house. She knows the commands sit and come. She likes to go for slow walks and will use the bathroom on the grass or when she is in the house she will use her pee pads. She likes to play with balls stuffed toys and squeaky toys. She will also engage in games of fetch chase and tug of war. She likes to eat Pedigree dry food and Mighty Dog wet food once a day and also likes beef flavored treats.
When Amber is in the house with her owner she will follow them around and will also stay in the same room with them. She likes to stay under a chair or the bed and will sleep on her blanket at night. During the Intake process Amber was calm and well behaved. She was aloof allowing people to pet her but not really interacting with those she encountered. She allowed herself to be collared and photographed with minimal effort. She allowed herself to be handled without incident.
