A volunteer writes: Spring is finally here and Amalia is ready to blossom into the dog loving, treat snuffling, soccer playing pet of your dreams! No one is keener to socialize than this beautiful girl and she lets me know loud and clear that the kennel life is not for her, vocalizing when she sees me and fairly leaping from her second-storey den in her eagerness to get out and about with a new friend. Amalia’s a great leash walker (though quite timid in the street) and seems to be house trained too as she uses the ‘little girls room’ almost immediately. She sits on command, takes treats very gently from my hand and absolutely adores other dogs, running to the fence to greet them with a happy tail and a big, friendly smile. Amalia may be pretty but she’s quite the tomboy at heart and watching her play with a ball is great entertainment for us both. Once I’ve thrown the tennis ball she’ll pick it up, drop it and then kick it all over the pen, play bowing and scampering so fast my camera can’t keep up before retrieving it, dropping it and starting the game all over again. Now that she’s aced her behavior assessment this gorgeous goofball is ready to leave for a real home and she’d make the perfect addition to almost any active family, especially one with some four-legged siblings. Spring is the time of year for new beginnings, can you give Amalia a fresh start of her own?
