A volunteer writes: Allie was born special. She has a cleft lip which only adds to her beauty, and her soft, kind, and gentle demeanor is only enhanced by her uniqueness. Likely housetrained, her leash manners are lovely and when we stopped to take some photos she does that head tilt thing I just love when I made kissy sounds at her. She’s been gorgeously cared for, her coat is clean and nicely groomed, her weight perfect for her size, and she actually smelled of perfume! A bit nervous around other dogs on the street, she greeted a group of ‘smalls’ through the gate once we were in the backyard. As Allie became more comfortable she became sweetly playful and bouncy, then joining me on the bench for some kisses. Sitting when I asked her to, she takes her reward treats gently. I left her in the pen to go get her kennel ready and when I returned she was waiting quietly, greeting me like her long lost bestie. I am absolutely in love with this sweet little girl, and the longer I spent time with her the less I noticed her cleft lip. Yes, she’s special because she just is….having nothing to do with her looks. She’s beautiful inside and out.
