11/14/15 18:42 Allie is an approx 12 year old American bulldog. She was rescued 12 years ago from an unknown shelter. The owner has been caring for her for the past 12 years. She is being surrendered because her owner no longer wants to keep her. She has a large mass on her hinde leg and her last vet visit was in 2005. Shes had 3 litters in her lifetime. Socialization Around strangers, Allie is very friendly and outgoing. She plays exuberantly with adults and children. The owner states that Allie is very protective of children. No one is allowedd to fight, scream or yell at children in her presence. She is very protective of the children in the home. She is rarely around other dogs and she dislikes cats. She has not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior Allie has no behavior issues. The owner lives in a private home with a backyard where Allie is let out to go potty. SHe loves to go outside and play in the yard. She is well behaved when left alone. She is not bothered by fireworks or thunderstorms. She loves baths and brushing but dislikes nail trimmings. She is not bothered when you try to take her food bowl, treats or toys away. When its her bones or treats, she will tug for you to let it go. For a new family to know Allie is described as friendly, affectionate, independent, playful, and protective, She has a medium activity level because of her old age. She loves to follow the family around and seeks attention. She has been kept both indoors and outdoors. She sleeps on the floor or on her bed. She was being fed Purina Dry food. Her favorite snacks or treats are pizza crust, ox tails, and bones. She knows how to sit, stay, down, and come. Behavior during intake Allie had trouble walking upon intake. As soon as she sat down, she urinated in the lobby. She allowed to be scanned(-) and leashed. She listens to commands made by the owner and was told to sit for photographs. She listened and posed for her photos. She was walked back to be transferred into a kennel. She urinated again before going into the kennel. She tolerated all handling and petting.

Allie came into our center as an owner surrender on 11/14/2015. Owner reports she is friendly towards strangers and very protective of children in the home. Owner states she is rarely around other dogs and dislikes cats. Allie tolerated all handling and petting upon intake. She walked slowly on her relief walk with no pulling. Allie allowed her head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, body neutral. She stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, ears back, body relaxed. Allie followed slowly at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft. Due to difficulty walking, paw Squeeze was skipped and Flank Squeeze was performed instead. Allie sat upon Flank Squeeze. Dog – dog 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog, exits. She showed no interest in Toy. The Behavior Team feels Allie would do well with an Average adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows slowly at end of leash, body soft. Flank squeeze 1. Dog sits, mouth open. Toy 1. No interest. Dog – dog 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog, exits.
