A staff member writes: AJ was surrendered with another dog because of pet conflict and allergies. The owner stated that AJ would fight with his house mate over food and no longer wanted the dogs in his home. AJ is very sweet and seems confused to why he is sitting here. He is fine with the other dogs in playgroup but does want to have human companionship. He is more a laid back and calm boy.

SAFER – AVERAGE HOME!!
AJ came to our center with another dog on 6/26/2015. It is reported he has lived with a young child. AJ walked nicely on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. He held gaze for three full seconds during Look item, body soft. he stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, body soft, ears and tail neutral. AJ followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, settling easily at the end. He gently pulled his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. AJ had no interest in Food, Toy, or Rawhide. During off leash time in the yard, AJ was social and polite but did not engage in play. The Behavior Team feels AJ would do well in an Average home and would make a lovely family pet.
Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds.
