08/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog: A1045987 Adrinna came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Adrinna came into the assessment room calm and sniffing the area, she was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Adrinna was distracted during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Adrinna was easy to handle when engaged with the items. During dog to dog interaction Adrinna approach the helper dog with her body tense, tail above spine, growls and attempts to bite. The behavior department feels Adrinna can be suitable for an experience adopter and can go to a home with no other dogs. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 4. Dog charges the helper dog while growling and attempting to bite.
