A volunteer writes: Long legs, elegant, gorgeously groomed, smiling, tail wagging…what’s not to love about Achilles? Coming down in the elevator with him and a staff person, he gave staff a big hug and I was told, “I love this dog”. It’s easy to see why. Volunteers love him too as his kennel card is already filled with positive comments indicating what a great leash walker he is (check), that he’s likely housetrained (check), and that he’s fun and friendly (check and check). In other words, he’s a delight! As we take a short walk to the park he looks up as I talk to him, and I could swear that he understood every word I said to him. He was paying close attention, wagging his tail and smiling as we walked and talked. He’s adorable! Surrendered as neighbors were afraid of his size, we’re told that Achilles has been with a 5 year old child and plays exuberantly, is relaxed and respectful with cats, relaxed and playful with other large dogs, is well behaved when home alone, does not like to get his nails trimmed, likes balls and toys and loves to play tug, and knows ‘sit’ and ‘come’. Achilles showed off all his skills during our time together, including his sit which he holds until I said ‘come’. He takes treats gently, gives stand up hugs and is playful, funny and everything a young dog should be. In group play he initially nervous but then engages in running play when solicited. When I put Achilles back in his kennel he turned around to give me a fabulous stand up hug. You haven’t been hugged until you’ve been hugged by Achilles. His big personality and winning smile are sure to win hearts everywhere. Will he win yours? Ask to meet him today.
