A volunteer writes: So shy and scared in his kennel Ranch had to be carried outside at first and then as the day went on and he had more exposure to people and other dogs his tail started to wag so hard he’d hit himself in the head!! Handsome, soft and silky he cuddles in close to his person, tail wagging, giving kisses and trying to be one with his person. He sat by me as I took some notes, leaned his body into my legs and reached up to give me kisses. He’s a super cuddler, shyly submissive, and will nudge my hand if I stop petting him. I was told that he needed to be coaxed down the stairs into the building the first time he was out (he’d probably never seen stairs before), but when I had him out later he was already a pro – navigated those steps perfectly. Rockstar!! Ranch knows how to sit, takes treats gently and chases a tossed ball but doesn’t know how to retrieve. His new person can teach him that – and everything else a rockstar puppy needs to know. Ranch was a bit nervous in his first group but was interested in greeting the helper dog and started to warm up. There’s no doubt this is a rockstar dog in the making, and he’s looking for his person to help him become everything he can be. Patience, love, training, structure and nurturing are the ingredients needed to help any puppy become an outstanding adult. Are you up for it? If so, meet Ranch today.
