12/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Oz previously lived with two adults, two children and one dog. The owner stated when Oz is around children he is described as playful and affectionate, and around other dogs and cats he is respectful and tolerant. The owner mentioned Oz is mostly housetrained, crate trained, has a high activity level and when home alone he seems to bark at objects. At intake it was reported Oz was tense with his head low and tail tucked, he did allow all handling. During SAFER Oz came into the assessment room fearful and nervous, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Oz tried to bite the assessor on Look item. He displayed no interest in any of the resource items during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog freezes and tries to bite. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Oz greets some dogs politely and will offer strong correction when a dog becomes too pushy.
