05/26/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Milo is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER at this time. At intake it was noted that Milo did not allow handling, and barked at the counselor when an approach for introductions was attempted. He was also intolerant of handling during his medical exam, and attempted to bite the technician. When the handler approached Milo in his kennel, he cowered in the back with fearful body language, but when the kennel was opened Milo bared teeth and lunged while air snapping. A SAFER assessment will not be conducted due to safety and stress level concerns, and it is recommended that Milo be placed with a New Hope partner.
