I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/23/2015 from NY 10464, owner surrender reason stated was PET HEALTH.

11/23/15 Basic Info Luri A1058763 is an 11 yr. Old female Bichon Frise poodle mix who was surrendered due to geriatric health issues. Luri is having incontinence issues, her owners did seek Veterinary care but were unable to afford the costs for treatments. Socialization Luri is described as being friendly with strangers and often greets them with a happy wagging tail. She does live with children and is said to be extremely tolerant of them. Luri still finds the energy to play with them in a relaxed and calm manner. Her owners stated she is extremely gentle and loves to just lay by the side of your feet when home watching television. Behavior Luri does have incontinence issues and uses the bathroom indoors. Because of this issue she was bathed often and didn’t mind any grooming that was done to her. She shows no signs of food guarding issues as she allows her food/toys to be taken. For a New Family to Know Luri is described as being friendly and affectionate who enjoys being held. She isn’t very active but would attempt to play and seek attention from her human siblings. When she’s not laying down She’s often seen following her owners around the house. Luri was mostly kept indoors but when she was taken out she walked slowly on the leash. During Intake Luri was brought in wrapped in a baby blanket and allowed all handling by staff. She allowed scanning (-), collaring and to be photographed. She greeted staff with a soft body posture and happy wagging tail. She was placed in the kennel and immediately began drinking water.

Luri walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Luri was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was not interested in toys. Luri does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Luri was surrender to us. Her previous owner described her as being friendly with strangers and often greets them with a happy wagging tail. She does live with children and is said to be extremely tolerant of them. Luri still finds the energy to play with them in a relaxed and calm manner. She shows no signs of food guarding issues as she allows her food or toys to be taken”. Luri did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy 1: No interest. Dog – dog 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits. Helper: A1058489
