05/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Katie came to us as a stray on 5/2/15. When entering with behavior Katie was interested in interacting with the assessor and had soft body language. She allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items, but did become very uncomfortable on the squeeze test. She ate faster, was stiff and very difficult to push out of the food bowl, but did not growl, snap or bite. Katie took the rawhide away with soft body language, and only displayed minimal interest in the toy on this portion of the assessment. The behavior department believes that Katie should go to an experienced home with no children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 3. Dog yelps while pulling paw away very quickly. Food: 3. Dog gulps food, begins to eat faster and with bigger bites, body stiff. She does not lift head when hand is applied to cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then walks away. Rawhide: 2. Dog takes rawhide away, keeps a firm hold. Her body is between you and the rawhide, and she is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness.
