12/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Earth came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Earth was excitable with loose body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Earth came into the assessment room with high energy, he was friendly towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Earth follows the handler but a bit distracted and not fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Earth was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Earth appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. When leash with other dogs, Earth can be very forward and hard bark at the fence, once Earth is muzzled he attempts to sniff the helper dog and play bows. Earth can become over stimulated and throws his body around and remains aroused for a while, he also can be reactive to small dogs passing by the distance hard barking and snapping. The behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter and only pet at home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body a bit tense, and mouth open. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft but a bit distracted. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: No interest. Please note that Earth has been over-aroused in his kennel, jumping and climbing the kennel bars. He has been observed throwing his body up against both the walls and door of his kennel. The Behavior Department feels that Earth should move from the kennel into a stable home environment as quickly as possible as he is demonstrating extreme stress behavio
12/17/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Earth is very forward and hard barks at the gate so he is muzzled. Once in the pen, he attempts to sniff the helper dog and then playbows. Immediately after playbowing, he becomes over stimulated and begins muzzle punching the helper dog and throwing his body at her. He remains aroused for a while afterwards, reacting to a small dog passing by in the distance, charging the fence, hard barking and snapping.
