05/04/15 20:48 Basic information Cinnamon is a 4 year old female spayed brown and white pitbull. Cinnamon has been with her family for almost 4 years. Cinnamon is being surrendered because her family wants her to have a better home. Social life and personality Cinnamon lived with 2 adults and 2 teenagers, a boy (12 years old) and a girl (16 years old). Cinnamon is reported to be good with chidlren and does not overwhelm them. She is loose for her interactions with other dogs but likes rough play. Cinnamon is reported to be reactive to cats. She is house trained and gets her excercise from leash walks but can be insistent when she walks. Cinnamon has free access to a yard and will let herself out to eliminate but does not have accidents inside. Behavior Cinnamon is good for handling except for baths which she may struggle against. She does not guard her food, toys or treats and is reponsive to direction. When strangers approach the home she will alert them. For a new family to know Cinnamon knows the commands Sit and down. She enjoys playing with balls and a squeezable strawberry toy. Cinnamon likes the game fetch. When the family is home she likes to be where they are. When by herself she is well behaved. Loud sharp noises make her nervouse. Cinnamon likes dry food with some wet mixed in. Upon intake Cinnamon was exhuberant for introduction and enjoyed all petting. She was loose and excitable for handling and counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) collar and photograph. Cinnamon was very insistent on leash but responsive to guidance and petting.

05/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Cinnamon previously lived with adults and 2 teenagers, and according to the owner Cinnamon was reported to be good with children and does not overwhelm them. She was also reported to be loose for her interactions with other dogs but likes rough play, and she does not do well with cats. It was note that Cinnamon is house trained, and she good for handling except for baths which she may struggle against. At intake Cinnamon was reported to be exuberant for introduction and enjoyed all petting. She was loose and excitable for handling and counselor was able collar her without issue. During SAFER Cinnamon was excitable and very attention seeking. She allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was playful during the tag interaction. Cinnamon did become stiff during the food item, and could not be pushed out of the food bowl, but did not escalate, and she only showed minimal interest in the toys and rawhide items. Cinnamon is very sociable and tolerant of all handling, but she did show some concern during the food item, so the behavior department feels Cinnamon would be best suited for an experienced adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog gently places her open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are back. Food: 3. Dog follows the dish, her tail between her legs, ears are forward. Her body is stiff. Dog does not lift her head from the bowl when hand is applied to his cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog sniffs, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog sniffs, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Cinnamon does well with both males and females and will explore the yard.

When off leash with other dogs, Cinnamon is polite at the gate and is tolerant when greeted, She does not show interest in interacting after the intial greeting. 5/6 Update Cinnamon does well with both males and females and will explore the yard. 5/7 Update Cinnamon continues to be tolerant and respectful off leash with other dogs. She exhibits no interest in play 5/8 update: Cinnamon greets with wagging tail and may play if solicited by an appropriate dog. 5/9,5/10 update: Cinnamon greets politely but does not interact any further. She is more interested in human attention. 5/11 Update Cinnamon continues to be tolerant and respectful with other dogs but does not engage beyond intial greetings
